SStamped

Terms of use

Last updated 14 October 2026

These terms apply to the Stamped iPhone app. Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement also applies.

What the app does

Stamped crops your photo to the size of the document you choose, replaces the background with the required colour, and checks the result against the published photo rules for that document. The rules in the app are a summary of the official guidance as of the date shown in the app.

No guarantee of acceptance

The passport office, embassy or agency that receives your photo decides whether to accept it. Rules change, officials apply them differently, and some things, such as glasses, expression and lighting, the app can only partly check. Read the official guidance for your application, and check the photo yourself before you use it. Some documents require a photo taken by a professional photographer or at an office; the app tells you when that applies.

Purchases

Photo unlocks are one-time, consumable in-app purchases charged to your Apple ID. One unlock gives you the single photo, the print sheet and the digital file for one photo and one document, and you can export it again at no charge. Unused unlocks do not expire. There is no subscription.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a photo you unlocked was rejected, tell us through the support page as well; we want to know why.

Your photos

Your photos are yours. They are processed on your phone and never uploaded. Only use the app for photos of yourself or of people who have agreed, or children you are responsible for.

Liability

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a rejected application, a missed appointment or travel costs. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
